ABOUT ISM
Independent Study and Mentorship, more commonly known as ISM, is a program wherein high school students perform detailed research on their field of interest, develop professional skills, and gain real-world experiences by connecting with professionals. This challenging program is offered in Frisco ISD, and to be selected for it, students must complete an application, obtain multiple teacher recommendations, and proceed through a final interview stage. Through these challenges, the students not only attain further knowledge about their field of interest, but also enhance their presentation and networking abilities, which are beneficial in the long run. This program's journey finally comes to an end for students in May after they present the highlights of their ISM experience to guests and visitors, including parents and mentors, in an event called the Final Presentation Night.
