Slow and Steady

This past week, I've done some casual research into clinical genetics, when I've had some free time on hand. The week went by like this because in ISM recently, we've been focusing more on interview skills & communication over research into our fields. Of course, though, this is only temporary because we have the Business Symposium coming up. I've signed up for a genetics course on Coursera--and I intend to complete this over the next few weeks. I've also been reading some scientific articles, on my own, about different genetic diseases. Being challenged by my lack of genetic vocabulary, I am finding Quizlets to combat this. This way, I can better understand the articles I'm reading & it will make research less of a definition Google-fest. Another challenge I've had to face is finding a balance between this sort of side research & school. I want to learn more about my field of study, but schoolwork and studying can get in the way. To improve on this, I've just been improving my time management, and I'm utilizing my weekends more to finish things. Next week, if time allows, I will do my next research assessment on different types of genetic testing used by clinical geneticists.
