Wow! This week was the best I've had so far in ISM. I was really dreading the ISM Business Symposium. I had so many assignments the night before, and I really only had an hour before the Zoom call to prepare. I was nervous and sweating a great deal, it was unnerving while I waited for my first interview. The three professionals who interviewed me were actually super enjoyable to talk to. I did not expect that at all! I felt really positive vibes while I connected with them and answered their questions. I had no clue it would be this fun, to be honest. Definitely not as dreadful as I thought it would be. The first lady I interviewed was a software engineer, the second was the Director of Innovative Learning at FISD, and the third was a physician in New York. I gained the most from the 2nd lady actually--she even offered to look at my resume! She gave me good feedback about my interview and told me how well I did overall by being conversational & interesting to listen to. I thought I was coming off as really nervous in my interviews, and listening to this feedback really made my day--I wasn't so bad at this after all! I ended up sending my resume to her, and the lady gave me awesome feedback. I ended up completely redoing my resume on a different platform, Canva, and adding everything she suggested. When I sent the new one, she told me it was really great. Afterwards, she even let me connect with her on LinkedIn! All in all, I'm super glad for Business Symposium, and I'm looking forward for more ways to challenge my introversion and get out of my comfort zone like I did this week!
